ISID is pleased to announce the establishment of ProMED Awards recognizing the best abstracts submitted in the area of Emerging Infectious Diseases. Up to three awards will be made.

ProMED, a Program of ISID, is one of the largest publicly available emerging disease and outbreak alert systems in the world. ProMED publishes via the Internet reports of infectious disease outbreaks and toxic exposure incidents with commentaries from a worldwide staff of expert moderators on a real-time basis around the clock. ProMED-mail emphasizes transparency, is open to all sources, is free of political constraints, and is available to anyone free of charge. ProMED embraces the “One Health” model of emerging diseases, recognizing the commonality of human, animal and environmental health.

The ProMED Awards will be presented for the best abstracts in the area of emerging infectious diseases accepted for presentation at the Congress. Each award consists of $500 (USD) in addition to free registration for the 19th ICID.
